Rio from a different angle! Welcome to the community of Rocinha!!
Favela Tour reveals the way of life of 20% of Rio´s population, changing the general ideia that favelas are no-go areas. It opens a new perspective over Rio de Janeiro. It is a tour to understand the city, its contrasts and paradoxes.
The tour takes you to Vila Canoas, with 2.500 people, and Rocinha, the largest Favela in Brazil with around 80.000 inhabitants. Both communities are placed within the rich neighborhood of São Conrado.
In Vila Canoas, we make a walking trip throughits narrow alleyways and get a good glimpse of its social initiatives that are also part of many Rio favelas. Once in Rocinha, the contrasts are more evident as we go higher and deeper inside. Its huge dimensions, wide variety of commerce and breathtaking view from the top are impressive impact for all visitors.
The duration of the tour is approximately 3 hours from the pick up time until we drop you at your hotel. There are two pick up times: 9:00 / 14:00 from Monday to Satruday and on Sunday there is only the morning pick up at 10:00.
